DART DSP is based in Berlin creative powerhouse for dance development that is leading the way in dance training and creation.

One of Europe’s most exciting, innovative dance spaces, where artists from all over the world come to push creative boundaries, to experiment with new works, inspired by the DART Dance Company to reach beyond what is possible and to aim for the impossible. This space is home to DART DSP, covering an extensive range of classes, courses and participatory opportunities for young dancers,  and professional development programs for artists. DART DSP is our world-class student program, offering vocational training to the highest technical and artistic standards. The DART method believes that by working through movement, breath, music, and dynamics, you will have the opportunity to explore and define your own creative states.

The focus of this dance training lies in practical experience: You will learn through working with our company members, guest teachers from all over Europe, how to work efficiently in a company environment, and develop your skills and experience as a dancer.

The schedule of the programme:

Ballet - 90 minutes
Repertoire/Creative work/Improvisation - 60 minutes

Contemporary - 90 minutes

DSP members will have 3 performances throughout the year during the programme.

One performance will be a double bill, where we will do an open call to invite choreographers to create a piece for the group. This past year we received 96 applications from choreographers from all over the world.

DART Company Courses: DSP Members can participate in the DART winter and spring intensive courses free of charge.

During the programme, we will hold a course before the beginning of audition season, so that you can prepare yourself for auditions.

There will be a professional photoshoot at the beginning of the course for DSP members.

We record every DSP performance with 3 professional cameras.

At the end of the course, you will receive professionally edited videos from the performances and pictures from the photoshoot.

At the end of the course the top 3 members from the DSP will be announced and they will have a professional webpage made for them for free. The winners will be announced at the beginning of May, and the websites will be available at the beginning of August.

At the end of the course, one of the DSP members will be offered an apprentice position with DART Dance Company in the following year. The student who receives this will be notified at the end of the season.

Every year we will hold an open call for DSP to try out their choreographer skills. The open call will be announced at the beginning of the season. They will either create a piece for themselves or other DSP members. The members who are chosen to create will showcase their work in a double bill performance with DART Dance Company, in a theatre in Berlin.
